My name is Atiyah, the founder of Ilmfants.
This is my story…
Working with children is a huge passion of mine.
I had been praying for inspiration for a while to create beneficial material using the skills I have gained, working as an Early Years Practitioner and teaching at an Islamic Institute. I constantly think about how I can make learning fun and more interactive for the children of this generation.
What inspired me?
The birth of ‘Ilmfants’ is the result of my positive experience and some motivational words from my husband, who is also a teacher of Islamic studies and shares my passion for initiative teaching.
We discussed how technology has progressed so much and how children now learn best with interactive resources.
I learnt from my Nursery training and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework that in order to help the children progress & flourish, they need to be exposed to a variety of learning methods. These include colours, images, visuals and sounds. We decided that we needed to implement similar methods when teaching Islamic Education to children so that it creates a similar focus and interest.
The fruits of our inspiration…
I thoroughly enjoyed creating my own colouring sheets, flashcards and coming up with different ways to help my own gorgeous nieces and nephews, enjoy learning all about Islam.
Our vision
Our vision is to create a productive platform where parents can buy resources, made from quality child friendly materials, helping them to teach Islam in a fun and interactive way. We also hope to create videos and content, inspiring parents on how to best use the resources they buy, enabling them to teach the children in the best possible way.
Eventually, we would like to become an interactive platform, where children can immediately recognise our characters and be attracted to them, using them to learn all about Islam.
